Bio-Karen Hibbard -English on the other side


Karen est une illustratrice/artiste visuelle qui habite et travaille à Montréal, Canada.
Elle a obtenu son Maîtrise de Beaux arts de l’Université de Concordia.


Une member des organizations d’artistes comme A.I.I.Q. et R.A.A.V., Karen est impliquée en l’art imprimé, les arts médiatiques, et l’illustration.

Elle a des oeuvres en les Collections d’art de LotoQuébec et le Bibliothèque Nationale du Québec.

Recemment, elle a gagné le Prix d’excellence (laBanque Nationale du Canada) à la Biennale “L’Art
Et le Papier V11”, ce qui est organize par la Galerie D’art Jean-Claude-Bergeron pour son estampe, “Laughing Rabbit”.

 


Bio-Karen Hibbard

Karen in a free-lance artist and has worked in the film, animation, multi-media & print industries.


She is a relative newcomer to illustration (4 years) but draws on a 20-year career as a visual artist. She has a M.F.A. from Concordia University.


As a child, she felt drawn into the fantastic worlds depicted in picture books. It would be a long time later before she would get her first contract with a publisher (Les Éditions Planète Rebelle) to illustrate a children’s book.


Karen has worked with children and young adults as an art teacher. She is currently a
replacement teacher at the Department of Fine arts at Dawson College.


She always loved to draw and paint and sew and macramé and when the computer came along, she enjoyed doing that too.
