ARTIST BOOK WORKSHOPS

CREATING AN ARTIST BOOKS

What is an Artist Book?

Artist books are works of art. They are considered one-of-a kind objects or 'uniques'.

Children & Adults

Karen uses a playful approach to the art of making artist books. Artist books use alternative visual formats and original visual content. By combining observational and creative techniques, students make imagery that is both imaginative and meaningful to them.

What is a journal specifically used for journaling?

This could be an artist book in the sense it is personalized and unique. However, it has the express function of being used by the maker for writing that releases stress and promotes healing or self-development.

Adults

Adult groups may opt for creating a personalized journal. This will take the form of an Artist book however pages inside are meant for personal expression especially writing.
